Nashville, TN— In Support of the Whole Planet Foundation, an organization who’s mission is poverty alleviation through microcredit in communities worldwide, the industry invite-only showcase yielded a huge turnout among on industry professionals.

The showcase was held Tuesday, April 23rd at 8:00 PM at The Rutledge.

Cook'n Up Music's Emily Reid kicked off the showcase with a crowd pleasing, outstanding performance. She has spent the last year promoting her album REID, touring in the US and Canada and making her way up the American Music Association’s Charts breaking through the Top 200 in January 2013.

The CO was also on the list of performers, with song placements in the ABC TV series, “Jane By Design” and being featured on ABC Family’s Artist on the Rise. They received outstanding crowd reviews with their rocking performance.

The headliner of the showcase, Striking Matches was a crowd favorite. They have had their songs "When the Right One Comes Along" and "Hangin On A Lie" in the hit TV series Nashville and they are becoming regulars on the Opry stage.

GA Music Awards

April 10, 2013, — Lauren Ashley is among eight other talented Georgia artists nominated for the GA Music Awards in the category of Female Country Artist. The nominations were announced Monday on the Georgia Music Awards website.  

In addition to Lauren Ashley, the other nominees in this field include: Amy Taylor, Angela Reign, Faith Jackson, Kelly Ballard, Crista Lynn, Rebecca Collins, Mandy Gawley, and Hope Sonam.

ABOUT LAUREN ASHLEY

Born in Griffin, GA, Lauren Ashley’s music is well rooted with southern rock and country influences. Lauren Ashley found her love for country music at an early age.

While in her first year of college at Georgia Southern University, Lauren Ashley soon gained a large fan base, playing in local venues throughout Georgia.

Lauren Ashley has spent the past three years touring and performing for crowds of as many as 10,000 fans. Lauren Ashley’s large fan base helped her win the title of the 2011 and 2012 Georgia-Country Female Artist of the Year, which is a fan-voted award.

Lauren Ashley is currently performing an average of six shows per month throughout the southeast and will co-headlining the Southern Throwdown College Concert Series this fall.
